How Payments Pricing Works
Every card transaction has a base cost set by the card networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) called interchange. This fee goes to the card-issuing bank — your processor can’t change it.
On top of interchange, processors add their own markup. Flat-rate processors bundle everything into a single percentage (e.g. 2.9% + 30¢) so you never see the real cost. That markup can be enormous on certain card types.
Interchange-plus pricing separates the two: you pay the actual interchange cost plus a small, transparent per-transaction fee. With Pesah, that markup is zero percent — you only pay a flat per-transaction fee on top of interchange.
